Description
The police are dealing with an incident at New Mills Central meaning some lines are blocked. As a result, services running between these stations may be revised to no longer call at New Mills Central.
Disruption is expected until 12:00.
How does this affect my journey?
Train services running from Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield are unable to call at New Mills Central (in this direction only).
Train services running from Sheffield to Manchester Piccadilly will still call at New Mills Central.
Train services running between Manchester Piccadilly and New Mills Central will be terminated and restarted from Strines.
What should I do?
Passengers at New Mills Central wanting to travel towards Sheffield are advised to board a train on platform 1 (to Manchester Piccadilly) and change at Marple, where there will be onward train connections for stations towards Sheffield.
Passengers travelling from stations between Manchester Piccadilly and Strines who want to alight at New Mills Central, are advised to alight at Chinley, where there will be connecting train services back to New Mills Central.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
