Description

A points failure between Newbury and Reading means that the line is blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled.

This is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost, in both directions on the following local bus routes:

• Newbury & District routes:

  • 1b and 1c: Newbury (Wharf), Thatcham (Station Road)

  • 8 and 9: Newbury (Wharf), Newbury Racecourse (Grandstand)

• Reading Bus routes:

  • Jetblack 1: Newbury (Wharf), Thatcham (Cropper Close), Midgham (The Angel), Aldermaston (Bath Road), Theale (The Crown), Reading (Blagrave Street)

  • Sky blue 15: Theale (The Crown), Reading West (Oxford Road), Reading (Friar Street)

• Stagecoach route 32: Newbury (Market Street), Basingstoke (Station)

Replacement transport in the form of taxis have been requested and a limited availability will be provided where possible.

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.
