TransPennine Express between Newcastle and Edinburgh

Description

A fault with the signalling system in the Alnmouth area means that some lines are blocked. As a result, fewer TransPennine Express services than normal can run between Newcastle and Edinburgh and some services will be cancelled.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Additional Information:

Network Rail staff are onsite trying to rectify the fault.

TransPennine Express services are unable to run between Newcastle and Edinburgh in both directions.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:

  • LNER services between Newcastle and Edinburgh in both directions

  • CrossCountry services between Newcastle and Edinburgh in both directions

  • ScotRail services between Dunbar-East Linton-Edinburgh in both directions

  • Northern services between Newcastle and Morpeth in both directions

The following CrossCountry departures from Newcastle will call additionally at Dunbar -

  • 10:39 / 12:40 / 13:40 / 15:40 / 16:40 / 21:34 service towards Edinburgh


The following CrossCountry departures from Edinburgh will call additionally at Dunbar -

  • 11:04 / 13:05 / 16:05 service towards Newcastle


The following LNER departures from Newcastle will call additionally at Reston:

  • 10:03 / 12:03 / 14:03 / 16:03 service towards Edinburgh


The following LNER departures from Edinburgh will call additionally at Reston:

  • 10:30 / 12:30 / 14:30 / 16:30 service towards Newcastle

Customers travelling from East Linton that are heading southbound, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available ScotRail services heading towards Dunbar. At Dunbar, you can you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available CrossCountry service towards Newcastle.
