A fault with the signalling system between Newington and Sittingbourne means some lines between Sheerness-on-Sea and Sittingbourne are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
Disruption is expected until 11:30
What's happened?
We have been advised of a fault with part of the signalling system between Newington and Sittingbourne. Response staff on site have put a temporary fix which allows the mainline through Sittingbourne to be open, but the Sheerness line is now affected. They have identified the fault and are in the process of fixing it fully to re-open all lines.
How does this affect my journey?
Trains can run through Sittingbourne in both directions as normal, however the Sheerness line has been suspended. Buses are now on site to replace the cancelled trains
We currently expect the 11:23 Sittingbourne to Sheerness to be the first train to run on the Sheerness line.
