Description
A fault with the signalling system at Normanton in causing disruption to trains in the Castleford area. As a result, trains running between Leeds / Castleford and Wakefield Kirkgate, between Castleford and Pontefract Monkhill, and also between Pontefract Monkhill and Wakefield Kirkgate may be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes, revised or diverted.
No trains are able to call at Woodlesford, Castleford, Normanton and Glasshoughton.
Disruption is expected until 03:45.

Services that run between Leeds to Sheffield via Moorthorpe are not affected.

LNER services between Leeds and Wakefield Westgate
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
The following rail replacement transports has been confirmed:
23:10 J&B Travel service between Leeds and Darton via Castleford then onwards towards Sheffield
23:15 Faredeal Coaches service between Knottingley and Leeds via Castleford, calling at all stations
23:25 RSZ Travel (2 x 16 seater) services between Leeds and Knottingley via Castleford
23:30 Phantom Travel service between Wakefield Kirkgate and Leeds via Castleford, calling at all stations
23:35 Elite Travel (2 x 16 seater) services between Leeds and Knottingley via Castleford then onwards towards Sheffield
Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by Rail Replacement transport.
TransPennine Express customer advice:
While work is being carried out to resolve the issue, the following routes may be delayed, revised, or cancelled in both directions:
York and Manchester Piccadilly via Wakefield Kirkgate. These services may be diverted between Leeds and Huddersfield. They will not call at Castleford, Normanton and Wakefield Kirkgate. They will call additionally at Leeds.
Newcastle and Liverpool Lime Street - may be delayed due to being diverted via an alternative route.
Rail replacement transport has been requested to operate between Huddersfield and York, calling at Wakefield Westgate, Normanton and Castleford. Once confirmed, more information will be provided.
