Across the Northern Network

Description

The Met Office are advising that heatwave conditions are forecast for parts of England and Wales with temperatures expected to remain high until at least Saturday 27 June.

The hot weather is set to be widespread over England and Wales, and highs of up to 38°C are possible in some areas. An amber weather warning has been issued for extreme heat covering parts of England and Wales until Thursday 25 June.

Customer advice:

Across the Northern Network, customers should check before you travel.

  • There will be disruption to services and some trains will not run - please check your journey before you travel

  • Do not board a train if you feel unwell - seek assistance

  • Try to travel with a bottle of water to help stay hydrated

Customers with tickets for travel between Tuesday 23 June through to Thursday 25 June have more flexibility.

If you have a Northern ticket dated Tuesday 23 June, Wednesday 24 June or Thursday 25 June:

  • You can travel on any Northern train earlier on the same day at no extra cost

or

  • You can use your ticket on any Northern service on Monday 22 June or Friday 26 June

If you no longer wish to travel, you can get a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

Please apply for your refund before 23:59 on the day before your ticket is valid.
