Description
Storm Amy is expected to bring very strong winds and heavy rain to many parts throughout the East of England with the potential for widespread disruption to Northern services until the end of the day, Saturday 4 October.
Yellow weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office.
Network Rail’s specialist weather team are closely monitoring the storm’s path and working with operators to confirm which routes are most likely to be impacted.

Services on the following routes are subject to delays and short notice cancellations in both directions:
An obstruction on the track between Preston and Blackpool North means that some lines are blocked. Trains may be revised as a result. Disruption is expected until 11:00.
Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:
Blackpool Transport bus services between Blackpool North and Blackpool South, and between Blackpool and Lytham in both directions
A tree blocking the railway between Bolton and Hall I' Th' Wood means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 11:00.
Road transport has been requested more information will follow when confirmed.

Ticket restrictions and easements:
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Please travel on the next Northern train where available, restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern, TransPennine Express or LNER service within 2 hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart.
