Description

A bridge having partially collapsed between Nuneaton and Rugby means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted via Birmingham.

Major disruption is expected until at least 17:00 on Friday 12 June.

Please check before you travel as services along this route may start or terminate from either side of Nuneaton or Rugby, or will not run the full journey. Where possible, trains will divert via Birmingham. If you are travelling, it is advised to keep a check on online journey planners for the latest and accurate journey information.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services:

  • CrossCountry between Manchester Piccadilly and Coventry via Birmingham New Street

  • East Midlands Railway via any reasonable route

  • London Northwestern Railway between Liverpool Lime Street and London Euston

  • West Midlands Railway between Birmingham New Street and Trent Valley stations

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

If you no longer wish to travel because your train is delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

London Northwestern Railway customer advice:

Rail replacement is currently in place between Stafford and Rugby until approximately 21:00.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services:

  • Avanti West Coast between Crewe and London Euston via Birmingham New Street

  • CrossCountry between Birmingham New Street and Nuneaton

  • CrossCountry between Tamworth and Birmingham New Street

  • East Midlands Railway between Crewe and London St Pancras International via Derby

Alternative travel options:

At no extra cost, passengers travelling:

  • North towards Crewe from Rugby are advised to travel via Birmingham New Street on either London Northwestern or Avanti West Coast services. For stations between Rugby and Stafford, passengers are advised to use rail replacement buses from Rugby

  • South towards Rugby and the capital, are advised to travel via Birmingham New Street on either London Northwestern Railway or Avanti West Coast services. For stations between Stafford and Rugby, passengers are advised to use rail replacement buses from Stafford

  • At Nuneaton or Tamworth can travel via Birmingham New Street with CrossCountry

Additional information:
