Description

Trespassers on the railway in the Penkridge area have now been removed, allowing all lines to reopen. Whilst service recovers, trains running between Wolverhampton and Stafford may still be delayed by up to 45 minutes or diverted via Nuneaton.

Disruption is expected until 14:00.

CrossCountry customer advice:

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following:

  • The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service

  • Avanti West Coast services between Birmingham New Street and Stafford

  • London Northwestern Railway services between Birmingham New Street and Stafford / Stoke-on-Trent

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are our unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

Compensation:
