Great Northern and Thameslink services to / from Peterborough
Thameslink services between between West Hampstead Thameslink and St Albans City
Description
The disruption between between Grantham and Retford / Nottingham is having a knock-on effect to Great Northern and Thameslink services to / from Peterborough. Trains are also being disrupted between West Hampstead Thameslink and St Albans City due to a broken down train at Cricklewood. As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised.
Disruption is expected until 18:00.

Thameslink services will be subject to delays, alterations and cancellations across the network due to a number of incidents:
A broken rail north of Peterborough which has caused knock on delays to Thameslink and Great Northern services
A broken down train at Cricklewood
You will need to use an alternative route for some journeys, in which case you should allow at least 30 minutes of extra time. Alternative route maps are available below to assist you with re-planning your journey.
The following changes to services will be made:
Thameslink services between St Albans City and Sutton (Surrey) will be suspended until further notice
Thameslink services between Rainham and Luton will run between Dartford and Rainham only
Thameslink services travelling from Sutton (Surrey) via Wimbledon towards St Albans City will run fast between West Hampstead Thameslink and Radlett
Services will also be subject to ad-hoc alterations meaning they may not stop at some advertised stations, or will be started / terminated at a different station than planned.
It's likely some services will be cancelled at short notice. Please listen for announcements onboard your train and regularly check journey planners.
If you're using road transport as an alternative please be note this will significantly extend journey times, so be sure to allow plenty of extra time to reach your destination.

Can you tell me more about the incident?
A number of incidents are affecting Thameslink and Great Northern services across the network.
A train has broken down at Cricklewood which is blocking some lines and resulted in the suspension of some Thameslink services.
North of Peterborough near Retford, a broken rail has caused knock on delays to trains between London, Peterborough and Cambridge.
Operators are working with Network Rail response crews to get all lines reopened and recover the service timetable.
