Trains between Dover Priory / Ramsgate / Faversham / Ashford International and London Cannon Street

Description

All lines have now reopened following a broken down train at Pluckley. Trains between Ashford International and Paddock Wood may continue to be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 10:30.

What's happened?

A freight train had broken down in the Pluckley area. A "rescue" train was sent to attach to the broken down train and propel it clear of the line, but unfortunately the train failed again. This blocked the London-bound line between Ashford International and Headcorn.

The freight train has now been able to get on the move, and is proceeding to Tonbridge where it will go into a siding, clear of the line.

Additionally, a fault with the signalling system in the Headcorn area meant the line towards Ashford International is blocked.

Both incidents are now resolved and trains can run on both lines as scheduled.
