Description

The Met Office have issued yellow and amber weather warnings for heavy rainfall today, Monday 15 December.

These warnings cover parts of Wales - with flooding likely on some routes.

Transport for Wales services may be disrupted, with delays, alternations and cancellations likely. You are strongly advised to check before you travel.

Routes affected:

Between Swansea and Cardiff Central:

You are advised to only travel between these stations if essential.

Train services running between these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Very limited rail replacement is in operation between Swansea and Cardiff Central (provided by Cymru Coaches and Telulu Travel). Due to local road conditions and heavy traffic, this may also be disrupted.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog:

Services running between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog will be cancelled or revised to run between Llandudno Junction and North Llanrwst only.

Buses have been organised to run between North Llanrwst and Blaenau Ffestiniog to assist you in completing your journey, at no extra cost.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day today.

Between Swansea and Llandrindod:

Train services to and from these stations may be subject to cancellations and revisions. Buses are in operation between Swansea and Llandrindod.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Please note that road transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey if you are travelling using these.

Between Bridgend and Barry:

Train services between these stations are disrupted and may be subject to cancellations and delays. Buses have been organised to run between Bridgend and Cardiff Central via Rhoose Cardiff International Airport.

Disruption is expected until 20:00.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

For helpful advice if you need to travel on a rail replacement service, including accessibility and bicycle information, please use our Rail Replacement Services page.

You can find the pick-up and set-down location of rail replacement services by checking station signage or by searching for your station on our Find a Station page.

Please be advised that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, and you should allow extra time for your journey.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
