TransPennine Express between Manchester Airport and Lancaster / Glasgow Central / Edinburgh, between Manchester Piccadilly and Glasgow Central, and also between Liverpool Lime Street and Oxenholme Lake District / Glasgow Central

Description

Lines have reopened following animals on the railway between Preston and Lancaster. Trains running between these stations may still be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised whilst service recovers.

Disruption is expected until 08:30.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

If you no longer wish to travel because your train is delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

Northern customer advice:

Services on the following routes will be affected by this disruption:

  • Between Manchester Airport and Barrow-in-Furness

  • Between Manchester Airport and Barrow-in-Furness

Northern services between Barrow-in-Furness and Corkickle are not affected.

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

  • 07:00 Avanti West Coast service between Lancaster and Glasgow Central

  • Customers travelling to/from Lockerbie, please speak to station staff for onward travel advice

  • 09:36 Avanti West Coast service between Glasgow Central and Preston

  • From Preston, customers can board next TransPennine Express or Northern service towards your destination
