Description
All lines have reopened between Preston and Bolton / Wigan North Western following the emergency services are dealing with an incident. Trains running between these stations may still continue to be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised as service recovers.
Major disruption is expected until 11:30.

TransPennine Express between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central and Preston
LNER between Edinburgh and London Kings Cross
Northern between Manchester Piccadilly and Warrington Central
If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.
If you no longer wish to travel because your train is delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

From Manchester Victoria, you can board the Northern service towards Blackburn and connecting services from Blackburn towards Preston
Customers can board TransPennine Express services towards Newcastle and connecting alternative CrossCountry and TransPennine Express services towards Edinburgh
TransPennine Express have also arranged for you to use your ticket at no extra cost to travel on the following Bee Network bus services between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly, 43, 101, 103, 50. Please see station staff for further information.
