Description

A safety inspection of the track between Brighton and Haywards Heath means that trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines towards London. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 18:00.

Trains are on the move, but are currently running at a reduced speed through the Hassocks area while Network Rail engineers evaluate an issue on the track. Services may experience delays, short-notice alterations, or cancellations while this safety restriction remains in place.

Safety checks are being carried out on a section of track in the Hassocks area.

Network Rail responders and local teams are on site inspecting lineside equipment and track components. A cautionary speed restriction has been put in place to ensure trains can continue moving safely through the area while staff resolve the issue.

The train operators are working closely with Network Rail to restore normal running as soon as the track has been declared fully clear.
