Description

Constraints on train crew availability are impacting CrossCountry today. Services on various routes may be subject to alterations and cancellations.

Trains that do run may be very busy. You are strongly advised to check your journey in full before you travel.

Customer advice:

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost, and without needing to amend your ticket, on the following services:

  • The two CrossCountry services operating before and the two CrossCountry services after your service if your train is cancelled

  • East Midlands Railway between Derby and Nottingham

  • Great Western Railway between Cardiff Central and Bristol Parkway

  • Northern between Sheffield and Doncaster

  • Transport for Wales between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa

If you do travel on an alternative CrossCountry service, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but coaches B, H and L are the unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available), so you are advised to head to them.

A bus will operate at 22:50 from Birmingham New Street to Leicester to assist you in completing your journey.

Rail replacement transport is showing in online journey planners.

Further advice can be found on CrossCountry's Journey Check.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

For helpful advice if you need to travel on a rail replacement service, including accessibility and bicycle information, please use our Rail Replacement Services page.

You can find the pick-up and set-down location of rail replacement services by checking station signage or by searching for your station on our Find a Station page.

Please be advised that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, and you should allow extra time for your journey.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
