Description

There are a shortage of available CrossCountry train drivers today.

As a result of this, CrossCountry services on various routes across the network will be cancelled in full or revised to only operate on part of the normal route.

This is expected to be the case for the remainder of the day today.

Customer advice:

Rail replacement bus services will be in operation between York and Newcastle in both directions (operated by E Travel and Opal Transport) from approximately 10:15 this morning. You may use your ticket on these services at no additional cost.

All road transport will be fully accessible. If you are a disabled customer requiring further assistance for your disrupted journey, please speak to railway station staff or use the customer help points if the station is unstaffed.

You may also use your ticket on the following services at no extra cost:

  • LNER between Doncaster and York (until 13:00)

  • Northern between Sheffield and Leeds, and also between Darlington and Newcastle

  • TransPennine Express between York and Edinburgh via Newcastle
