Between Clitheroe / Blackburn and Rochdale, between Blackburn and Headbolt Lane, and also between Leeds and Manchester Victoria / Wigan Wallgate / Wigan North Western / Chester

Description

A broken down train between Todmorden and Rochdale means that some lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 14:00.

Road replacement transport has been requested and will operate as follows:

Hebden Bridge calling stations to Manchester Victoria.

  • 11:10 operated by Bestway

Manchester Victoria calling stations to Hebden Bridge.

11:30 operated by Ocean Travel

Manchester Victoria calling stations to Blackburn via Todmorden:

  • 11:10 operated by Ocean Travel

  • 12:10 operated by S Line

Blackburn calling stations to Manchester Victoria via Todmorden.

  • 11:20 operated by S Line

  • 12:20 operated by Phantom Travel

Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycle’s, e-bikes and dogs (excluding service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.

Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.

The following services are not affected by this disruption in both directions.

  • York / Leeds - Blackpool North services

  • Clitheroe / Blackburn - Rochdale services

You may use your ticket, at no extra on the following services:

  • Metrolink between Rochdale and Manchester stations

  • TransPennine Express between Leeds and Manchester Victoria via Huddersfield

  • Transport for Wales between Manchester stations and Chester

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
