TransPennine Express between Liverpool Lime Street and Cleethorpes

Description

A fault with the signalling system at Rotherham Central means that some lines are blocked.

Services between Doncaster and Meadowhall (in this direction only) are currently running at a reduced speed.

Trains operating between Sheffield and Moorthorpe / Doncaster may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 17:30.

Northern customer advice:

Services on the following routes are still able to run but will not call at Rotherham Central in either direction:

  • Between Sheffield and Leeds (via Moorthorpe)

  • Between Sheffield and Doncaster / Adwick

Alternative travel suggestions:

A bus will run at 17:05 from Meadowhall to Rotherham Central (operated by Elite). Please note, journey times will be extended whilst travelling by road transport.

To help you get to your destination, you can use South Yorkshire Supertram services between Sheffield and Rotherham, in both directions.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including advance and peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
