Between Preston and Ormskirk
Description
A safety inspection of the track between Preston and Ormskirk means that all lines are closed. As a result, trains can not run between these stations and will be cancelled.
This is expected until 14:00.
What should I do?
You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
Replacement transport
Road transport will be operated by S Line as follows:
Preston to Ormskirk calling at Croston, Rufford, Burscough Junction and Ormskirk at 12:20
Ormskirk to Preston calling at Burscough Junction, Rufford, Croston and Preston at 12:50
Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick-up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.
Journey times may be extended by up to 30 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
