Description

Lines have reopened following the emergency services dealing with an incident between Rugby and Stafford / Stoke-on-Trent earlier today. As services start returning to normal, trains between these stations may continue to be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Please note tickets dated today, Monday 14 July, will be valid for use tomorrow, Tuesday 15 July, via the same route at any time.

Stations between Rugby and Lichfield Trent Valley will not be served.

To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost, on the following alternatives:

  • London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street via Birmingham New Street

  • Northern between Crewe and Manchester

  • Transport for Wales between Crewe and Manchester

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

London Northwestern Railway

To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost, on the following alternatives:

  • Avanti West Coast via any reasonable route

  • CrossCountry via any reasonable route

Rail replacement buses have been requested to operate between Rugby and Stafford.
