Between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin

Description

A safety inspection of the track between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin, means services have to run at a reduced speed. Train services running between these stations may be delayed or revised.

Disruption is expected until 14:00.

Customer advice:

Engineers are on their way to carry out the safety inspection to allow trains to run as usual.

Trains are expected to run, but due to the defect reported trains will run at a reduced speed as a matter of caution at some points of the journey which may result in delays and short notice alterations may take place in order to minimise disruption.

Although trains are running, in order to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost to yourself we have arranged rail replacement transport which is calling at Ryde Esplanade, Ryde St Johns Road, Brading, Sandown, Lake and Shanklin.

Due to the last minute nature of this, the rail replacement is not running to a timetable.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

For helpful advice if you need to travel on a rail replacement service, including accessibility and bicycle information, please use our Rail Replacement Services page.

You can find the pick-up and drop-off location of rail replacement services by checking station signage or by searching for your station on our Find a Station page.

Please be advised that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, and you should allow extra time for your journey.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
