Description
A fault with the signalling system between Salford Crescent and Bolton means that all lines are disrupted. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes, or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Northern customer advice:
Northern services between Rochdale and Blackburn are unable to run in both directions.
Northern services between Rochdale and Clitheroe will run as normal but will be subject to short notice delays and cancellations.
What's happened?
Services between Salford Crescent and Bolton are being disrupted due to a fault with the signalling system.
Network Rail staff are on site.
What should I do?
You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.
You can use your ticket, at no extra cost, on the following Bee Network buses:
V1, V2, 8, 35, 36, 37, 38, 132, 615, 575, 576, 516, 607, 608, 609 and 615
Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption.
TransPennine Express customer advice:
Northbound services may be diverted and will not call at Bolton.
If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any TransPennine Express or Northern service within the two hours before or after your cancelled service.
