Description

Following an earlier fault with barriers at a level crossing in the Redcar Central area, all lines have now reopened.

Whilst services recover, trains running between Middlesbrough and Redcar Central / Saltburn may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until approximately 12:00.

How does this affect my journey?

Train services are now able to run between Redcar Central and Saltburn (in both directions). However, whilst the service recovers, trains between Bishop Auckland / Darlington and Saltburn may still be delayed or revised.

What should I do?

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Road transport:

Road transport has been arranged, calling at all intermediate stations, to run as follows:

  • 10:15 Middlesbrough to Saltburn - Two 16-seater minibuses operated by E-Travel

  • 11:15 Saltburn to Middlesbrough - Two 16-seater minibuses operated by E-Travel

  • 11:15 Middlesbrough to Saltburn - Full size coach operated by Jim Hughes Coaches

Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.

Journey times may be extended whilst travelling by road transport.
