Description
A fault with the signalling system between Crewe and Sandbach means that trains have to run at a reduced speed on all lines. As a result, trains between Crewe and Wilmslow may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes, revised or diverted.
Disruption is expected until 12:00.
Avanti West Coast customer advice:
Trains may be diverted via Stoke-on-Trent.
If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

Journey times will be extended by 15 minutes whilst travelling by rail replacement transport.
If you are travelling from Crewe to Wilmslow, Stockport or Manchester Piccadilly you may use your ticket on Avanti West Coast and Transport for Wales services at no extra cost in both directions.

Road transport has been requested to run between Sandbach and Crewe, in both directions. More details will follow once confirmed.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
