Between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton
Description
A fault with the signalling system between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton means that all lines running between these stations are blocked.
As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted.
Major disruption is expected until 20:00.
There are a number of different options available to help you complete your journey. Please check your whole journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner as some of the alternative routes listed below that you can use your ticket on may also be affected by this disruption.
Avanti West Coast customer advice:
Sandwell & Dudley will not be served.
If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.
If you no longer wish to travel because your train is delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.
CrossCountry customer advice:
Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following:
Avanti West Coast services between Birmingham New Street and Stafford
London Northwestern Railway services between Birmingham New Street and Stafford
West Midlands Railway services between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton
West Midlands Metro between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost
Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.
London Northwestern Railway customer advice:
Rail replacement buses will run between Stafford and Wolverhampton.
Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on Avanti West Coast and CrossCountry services between Stafford and Wolverhampton.
