Description

Lines have reopened following a passenger being taken ill on a train in the Seaton Delaval area. Trains running between Newcastle and Ashington may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

Rail replacement buses are in operation between Newcastle and Ashington.

Journey times will be extended whilst travelling by rail replacement transport.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
