Description

All lines have now reopened following points failure between Sellafield and Corkickle. Trains running between Barrow-in-Furness and Corkickle may continue to be delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 10:30.

Please note, buses replace trains between Corkickle and Whitehaven due to unstable ground conditions which require urgent repair.

Customer advice:

Train services are now able to run between Sellafield and Corkickle (in both directions).

Northern services between Barrow-in-Furness and Manchester Airport are not affected.

Replacement transport:

Road transport has been confirmed to run as follows:

At 08:25 from Sellafield to Whitehaven, calling at St Bees, Corkickle and Whitehaven (operated by Workington Transport Heritage Trust).

Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
