Between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin
Description
There is a fault with the radio system that is used for communication between the driver and the signaller between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin. This means that all lines running between these stations are closed.
As a result of this, service is suspended on this line for the rest of the day today.
Customer advice:
There is a fault with a safety critical item of communication equipment that allows divers and signallers to communicate. This means that the Island Line will be suspended all day today (Friday 4th September).
Engineers will be on site attempting to fix the systems throughout the day, and an update will be provided once more information is available.
How do I get to my destination?
If you are travelling between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde Esplanade, please use the rail replacement minibus service running between these stations.
If you are travelling between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin, please use Southern Vectis bus routes 2 and 3 between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin. You can use your ticket on these services at no extra cost.
