Description

A fault with the signalling system in the Shawford area means the lines towards Eastleigh are blocked. Trains running between Basingstoke and Eastleigh may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 22:30.

A signalling problem near Shawford station is currently affecting the lines towards Eastleigh. This means that the lines towards Southampton and Portsmouth via Fareham are currently blocked.

Until further notice the following alterations will apply:

Long Distance and Mainline services:

Trains from Winchester towards Eastleigh, Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour via Fareham are being diverted to run on the platform 1 side from Winchester towards these stations, so journeys may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Trains from Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour via Fareham towards Eastleigh and Winchester are able to run as booked, but may be delayed by up to 30 minutes due to the single line of track being used in both directions.

How do I get to my destination?

If you're travelling from Shawford or Winchester towards Basingstoke: Please go to Platfom 1 at these stations and listen out for announcements or speak to staff for trains towards Basingstoke and London Waterloo.

Some services from London Waterloo towards Southampton Central and Weymouth may be diverted after Woking to run via Guildford towards Havant, and re-join the mainline at Southampton Central. This will add approximately 35 minutes onto your journey time.

Some services from London Waterloo towards Portsmouth Harbour via Eastleigh may be diverted after Woking to run via Guildford and Havant, and re-join this line from Hilsea. This will add approx 35 minutes onto your journey time.
