Description

A fault with the signalling system at Shrewsbury is causing disruption to Transport for Wales services running to / from and through this station. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 35 minutes, revised or diverted via Chester.

Disruption is expected until 08:30.

Customer advice:

Transport for Wales have arranged rail replacement transport to run between Shrewsbury and Crewe operated by Keanes to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will be in operation until 09:00.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services until 12:00:

  • Avanti West Coast:

    • between London Euston and Birmingham New Street

    • Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly

  • CrossCountry services:

    • between Birmingham New Street and Cardiff Central

    • between Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly

  • Northern between Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly

  • West Midlands Railway between Birmingham New Street and Shrewsbury

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
