Between Newcastle / Hull and Liverpool Lime Street, between Saltburn / Redcar Central and Manchester Airport, between Scarborough and Manchester Victoria, and also between York / Leeds and Manchester Piccadilly

Description

Lines have now reopened following fault with the signalling system between Huddersfield and Stalybridge.

While service recovers, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes, revised or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 18:00.

Customer advice:

Where possible trains may be still diverted between Mirfield and Manchester Victoria / Manchester Piccadilly in both directions, however services may be delayed, revised or cancelled at short notice.

Trains that divert may not call at:

  • Huddersfield

  • Slaithwaite

  • Marsden

  • Greenfield

  • Mossley

  • Stalybridge

What should I do?

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following in both directions until 18:00:

  • Any alternative TransPennine Express service between Leeds / Manchester and Liverpool Lime Street

  • CrossCountry services between Newcastle / Darlington and Leeds

  • LNER services between Newcastle / Darlington and York

  • Metrolink between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly

  • Northern services between Leeds and Manchester Victoria via Brighouse / Halifax, between Leeds and Hull via Selby, between Leeds and Wakefield Kirkgate via Normanton and Castleford, and also between Stalybridge and Manchester Victoria

Alternatively, the Bee Network operates a free bus every 10 minutes between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly.

Please be advised that other operators may also be affected by this disruption.

Customers can travel on the Bee Network Buses between Huddersfield and Manchester via Slaithwaite, Marsden, Greenfield, Mossley, Stalybridge and Manchester:

Customers travelling on the Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield stopper services in both directions, please be advised of the following road replacement transport running:

  • 16:25: 2 coaches will run from Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield calling at Stalybridge, Mossley, Greenfield, Marsden, Slaithwaite and Huddersfield

  • 16:20: 1 coach will run from Huddersfield to Manchester Piccadilly calling at Slaithwaite, Marsden, Greenfield, Mossley, Stalybridge and Manchester Piccadilly
