Description

A safety inspection of the track between West Ealing and Southall means that trains have to run at a reduced speed on some lines. As a result, trains running between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading may be cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Elizabeth line customer advice:

Passengers requiring Heathrow from the eastern route between Shenfield and Stratford are advised to change at Whitechapel for a Heathrow Terminal 4 service.

Passengers can travel for free between Heathrow Terminals. Change at Heathrow Terminals 2/3 for Heathrow Terminal 5.

Ticket acceptance:

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following alternative train and underground services:

  • London Underground services via any reasonable route

  • Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Reading (please note their services are also affected by this issue)

  • South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Reading

Whilst this disruption is ongoing, buses are a simple and direct alternative. You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the below bus operators:

  • London Buses between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals / West Drayton

Great Western Railway customer advice:

Some services between London Paddington and Oxford / Cardiff Central will not run, in either direction.

Local stopping services between London Paddington and Didcot Parkway / Newbury will only run between Reading and Didcot Parkway / Newbury.

Most longer distance Intercity services will continue to run between London Paddington and Reading, but may be subject to delay.

You may use your ticket, at no extra cost, on the following services:

  • Elizabeth line services between London Paddington and Reading, in both directions. Their services are also affected by this issue

If you are travelling to or from Slough, Maidenhead or Twyford your ticket will be accepted for travel via Reading, if this provides a faster journey to or from London Paddington

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.

If you miss a connection as a result of being delayed, you can use your ticket, at no extra cost, on the next available train.

A half-hourly service will be in operation.
