Trains between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals / Reading

Description

A failure of the electricity supply caused by a fire next to the track in the London Paddington area means all lines between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals / Reading are blocked.

As a result, trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Elizabeth line customer advice:

You will need to seek alternative routes to complete your journey if you are travelling west of London Paddington. Services will only run between either London Paddington and Abbey Wood / Shenfield. Some trains may be diverted to start from London Liverpool Street.

Passengers travelling towards Heathrow Airport will need to use the Piccadilly line, or local and London buses.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following alternative services:

• London Underground services via any reasonable route

• London Buses between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals / West Drayton / Abbey Wood

• South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Reading

• Chiltern Railways between London Marylebone and High Wycombe

• Docklands Light Railway via any reasonable route

• Southeastern services between London Terminals and Abbey Wood

• Thameslink services between Farringdon and Abbey Wood

Alternative London bus routes during disruption:

You should allow extra time to complete your journey as the bus journey will be slower than the train. You may need to change buses or travel via a major interchange. Check the live information before you travel as routes, stops and road conditions and congestion can change at short notice.

  • 205 to Whitechapel and Marble Arch and 23 to London Paddington

  • SL9 and 278 towards Heathrow central terminal area and 350 towards Heathrow Terminal 5

  • 195 towards Southall

• Heathrow Terminals:

  • 105 (from Terminals 2 and 3) or 482 (Terminals 4 and 5) to Southall

  • SL9 (from Terminals 2 and 3) or 350 (Terminal 5) to Hayes & Harlington and West Drayton

• West Drayton area:

  • 222 / U1 to Uxbridge for London Underground connections

  • 350 to Hayes and Harlington and Heathrow Terminal 5

• Slough area:

  • 81 to Hounslow for London Underground connections

  • 702 towards Hammersmith and London Victoria (the last bus is at 22:00)

Please note, this issue is also affecting Great Western Railway services running between Maidenhead and Marlow.

Tickets dated for today, Saturday 5 September, will be valid for travel tomorrow Sunday 6 September at no extra cost.

• Avanti West Coast services between Birmingham New Street and London Euston

• CrossCountry services between Birmingham New Street and Bristol Temple Meads

• Chiltern Railways services between Oxford and London Marylebone

• South Western Railway services between Salisbury / Reading and London Waterloo

• London Underground on Bakerloo and Jubilee lines

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.
