Description

A problem with the station lighting at Southease means a reduced service will be able to call at the station. Services running through this station will be running non stop between Lewes and Newhaven Town.

Disruption is expected until 23:30.

Customer advice:

The platform lighting at Southease has been restored and trains will resume calling at both platforms.

The first train to stop in the direction towards Seaford will call at Lewes at 22:00 and Southease at 22:06.

Please talk to station staff, look at information boards or check your journey planner for the latest information.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

A lighting issue at Southease meant trains could not stop on platform 2 this evening.

Because the platform was in darkness, it was unsafe for trains to call and for customers to board or alight.
