Between London Liverpool Street / Wickford and Southminster

Description

A speed restriction has been imposed over defective track between Wickford and Southminster.

As a result, an emergency timetable has been put in place for services running between these stations.

With trains having to run at a reduced speed, some services may be subject to delays of up to 20 minutes.

This is expected until the end of the day Sunday 13 September.

Customer advice:

Trains between Wickford and Southminster in both directions are running at a 30mph due to a speed restriction, after a safety inspection of the track found faults.

As a result of the extensive nature of the repair work required, an emergency timetable has been put in place as follows:

  • Wickford to Southminster services will depart Wickford at XX:15 minutes past the hour (with the exception of the last service which departs at 23:00)

  • Southminster to Wickford services will depart Southminster at XX:05 minutes past the hour (with the exception of 22:13 Southminster to Wickford)

This should enable a more reliable service to run.

The below services will be cancelled until Friday 11 September

  • 05:15 Wickford to Southminster

  • 06:05 Southminster to Wickford

  • 23:00 Wickford to Southminster

These services will be replaced buy a Rail Replacement bus.

Journey Planners will be updated overnight for the following day's service.

Please allow plenty of time to travel, and check your train before you travel. You may need to take a different train than originally planned.
