Description

A safety inspection of the track between Wigan Wallgate and Southport means all lines are blocked. As a result, no trains will run between these stations.

Disruption is expected until approximately 16:30.

Services between Wigan Wallgate and Southport are being disrupted due to a safety inspection of the track.

Network Rail staff are due on site at 14:15

How does this affect my journey?

Train services are unable to run between Wigan Wallgate and Southport (in both directions).

Services on the following routes will be cancelled or terminate and start back from Wigan Wallgate.

  • Between Manchester Oxford Road and Southport

  • Between Stalybridge and Southport

Northern services on the following routes are not affected:

  • Between Blackburn and Headbolt Lane

  • Between Preston and Ormskirk
