Description

Speed restrictions have been put into place across various ScotRail routes until 10:00 on Saturday 1 November. As a result, trains will need to run at reduced speeds and therefore will be subjected to revisions and delays by up to 20 minutes.

Impacted services:

The following routes are impacted:

  • Edinburgh and Inverness

  • Kilmarnock and Girvan / Stranraer

  • Glasgow Central and Carlisle - Some of these services may start / terminate from Dumfries. Rail replacement buses will run between Dumfries and Carlisle in both directions. These will be provided by Photoflash and Arays. Please note, buses may depart later than the scheduled train departure time

  • Glasgow Queen Street and Inverness / Mallaig / Oban - Some cancelled services between Glasgow Queen Street and Oban will be replaced by a bus

You can use your ticket, at no additional cost, on ScotRail services via any alternative route to your destination.

If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.

Additional information:

There are speed restrictions in place across some ScotRail routes. For safety, trains will run at a lower speed of 40MPH until 10:00 on Saturday 1 November. This will result in some revised and delayed services. Please continue to check before you travel.
