Description

A broken down train between West Hampstead Thameslink and St Albans City means that some lines are disrupted. As a result, trains travelling between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

This disruption is also affecting Thameslink services, more information can be found on this page.

A visual disruption map video is available.

Customer advice:

There is a broken down train at Cricklewood. This is between London St Pancras International and Luton and is disrupting trains on the London St Pancras International / Luton Airport Parkway / Corby and the London St Pancras International / Nottingham / Sheffield routes.

Network Rail and Thameslink are working together to investigate the fault on the train. There may also be some damage to the overhead wires.

How does this affect my train?

East Midlands Railway are currently unable to run services between London St Pancras International / Luton Airport Parkway / Corby in both directions and this is likely to be the case for the rest of the day.

Trains running between London St Pancras International / Nottingham / Sheffield may be doing additional stops at Wellingborough and Bedford, these will be updated in the online journey planners.

At present we are expecting the problem to continue all day, if there is damage to the overhead wires then this will need to repaired once the broken down train is moved.

How do I get where I need to be?

You may use your ticket at no extra cost to travel on the following alternatives in both directions:

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston and Tamworth

  • CrossCountry between Tamworth and Derby and between Nuneaton and Leicester

  • Thameslink between London St Pancras International and Bedford

  • London Underground between Kings Cross St Pancras and Euston

  • LNER between London Kings Cross and Doncaster
