Description

All lines have now reopened following an earlier safety inspection of the track between Liverpool Lime Street and Earlestown. Trains running between these stations may continue to be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Trains diverting via this alternative route will be unable to serve Lea Green and Newton-le-Willows.

• Northern services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road, and also between Warrington Bank Quay and Newton-le-Willows

• Metrolink services between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly
