Description

Damage to the overhead wires between Stafford and Birmingham New Street means some lines are blocked. Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 12:00.

Tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on the following routes:

  • East Midlands Railway between Sheffield and London St Pancras International

  • LNER between Edinburgh and London Kings Cross

  • Transport for Wales between Crewe and Wolverhampton via Shrewsbury

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

London Northwestern Railway customer advice:

Tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on CrossCountry between Stafford and Birmingham. Please note this train operator is also affected by this disruption.

Replacement buses will run between Stafford and Wolverhampton. These are expected to be in place from 08:30.
