Following a points failure between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge, all lines are now open. Whilst service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be revised.

Disruption is expected until 21:00.

You can travel on the following train operators and routes at no extra cost:

• Bee Network Buses on routes 216, 219, 230, 231 and 237

• Metrolink services between Manchester Victoria and Ashton-under-Lyne

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Where possible trains will be diverted around the affected area and may no longer call at:

• Manchester Oxford Road

• Manchester Victoria

• Huddersfield

Alternative TransPennine Express services between Manchester Piccadilly and Huddersfield / York may also be delayed by this problem.

  • 216 between Manchester Piccadilly Gardens and Ashton-under-Lyne

  • 219 between Manchester Piccadilly Gardens and Ashton-under-Lyne / Stalybridge
