Description
A fault with the signalling system at Stockport means that some lines are blocked. As a result, trains running to / from this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
Please note, no trains are running between Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly due to engineering works.
Disruption is expected until 14:00.
A visual disruption map video is now available.
Avanti West Coast customer advice:
If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.
If you no longer wish to travel because your train's delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.
CrossCountry customer advice:
Rail replacement transport will run between Macclesfield and Stockport from 12:40.
You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:
The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service
Avanti West Coast between Stafford and Stockport
East Midlands Railway between Derby and Crewe
London Northwestern Railway services between Birmingham New Street and Stafford
Northern between Stoke-on-Trent and Stockport
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them. You can view the formation of trains.
