Description
The Met Office have issued yellow weather warnings for snow and ice which cover the Transport for Wales network. These will be in place until the end of the day.
Storm Goretti brought ice, strong winds and snow to parts of England and Wales. The amber weather warning has now ended, however, the severe weather will continue throughout today.
You are strongly advised to check your journey in full on either of the affected days, and check our Status and Disruptions page if your journey involves travel with other train operators.
The following alterations have been confirmed. Please be aware that across the network, trains that do run may be delayed, cancelled or altered at late notice due to the severe weather.
The following routes are suspended today, Friday 9 January:
No trains or replacement buses are in operation on the below routes:
Between Llandudno and Llandudno Junction
Between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog
Between Bidston and Wrexham
Between Shrewsbury and Swansea (via Heart of Wales line)
Between Carmarthen and Whitland / Pembroke Dock / Milford Haven / Fishguard Harbour
Between Maesteg and Ebbw Vale Town
Between Hereford and Shrewsbury
Between Birmingham International and Shrewsbury
Between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury
The following routes will have a reduced service until the end of the day:
Between Carmarthen and Cardiff Central - one train per hour will run
Between Shrewsbury and Crewe - one train every two hours will run
Between Gloucester and Cardiff Central - one train per hour will run
Between Chester and Manchester - one train per hour will run
Delays, cancellations and alterations are also likely across these routes. Please note in the event of train cancellations it may not be possible to provide rail replacement transport due to the road conditions.

Ticket acceptance:
If you're unable to travel today, you may use your ticket on up to and including Monday 12 January at no extra cost.
You can use your ticket at no extra cost on:
Cardiff Bus routes 21, 23, 24, 25, 27, 86 and 92 but please note these buses may be disrupted due to the severe weather
Great Western Railway between Newport (South Wales) and Carmarthen
