Weather warnings in place: travel advice for Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August

Description

The Met Office have issued yellow weather warnings for areas of England on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August for thunderstorms and flooding.

Whilst warnings are not in place for Wales and Scotland, bands of heavy rain and thunderstorms are still forecast in these areas.

Train services are expected to run as normal, however due to the nature of these warnings, please check your entire journey before you travel.

Heavy rainfall can cause flooding that results in tracks being underwater and embankments being damaged, causing potential landslips and flooding can affect points and signalling equipment, which allow trains to move from one line to another.
