Weather warning in place: travel advice for today

Description

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms today in parts of England and Wales until 21:00.

Whilst warnings are not in place for Scotland, bands of heavy rain and thunderstorms are still forecast in these areas.

Train services are expected to run as normal across the rest of the network however, with the nature of these warnings, please check your entire journey before you travel.

Heavy rainfall can cause flooding that results in tracks being underwater and embankments being damaged, causing potential landslips and flooding can affect points and signalling equipment, which allow trains to move from one line to another.
