Description

A fire next to the track in the Stratford (London) area means all lines are closed. Trains running through this station will be cancelled or revised. Until lines reopen and trains in the area are able to move again services will also be severely delayed.

  • Elizabeth line are suspended between Whitechapel and Shenfield with cancellations, alterations and delays across their network

  • Greater Anglia are severely disrupted on all routes to / from / through Stratford are have asked you do not travel for remainder of today

  • London Overground are suspended between Dalston Kingsland and Stratford with delays across the entire Mildmay line

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Ticket restrictions for today (Friday 10 July 2026) have been lifted and you will be able to use your ticket on trains tomorrow (Saturday 11 July 2026).

Service impact:

There will be no trains between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield via Stratford. Trains elsewhere are expected to be extremely disrupted. Please do not travel.

  • Southeastern between London St Pancras International and Stratford International

  • c2c between London Fenchurch Street, West Ham and Southend Central

  • Travel on the Greater Anglia train to Stansted Airport and change there for Stansted Express services to London Liverpool Street

  • Travel on the Greater Anglia train to Cambridge and change there for services to London Liverpool Street

  • Travel on the East Midlands Railway train towards Liverpool Lime Street. Change at Ely for the first available service to Cambridge or Stansted Airport for services into London Liverpool Street

Travelling from London to Norwich (approximately journey time up to 3 hours)

  • Travel on the Stansted Express from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport and change there for services to Norwich

  • Travel on Greater Anglia trains to Cambridge and change there for the first available train to Ely. Change again at Ely for the first available train to Norwich

Travelling from Ipswich to London (approximately journey time up to 3 hours)

  • Travel on the Greater Anglia train from Ipswich and Stowmarket to Cambridge and change there for services to London Liverpool Street

Hot weather today - If you are travelling you should consider bringing a bottle of water with you to keep hydrated - water fountains with free cold water are installed at 23 Greater Anglia managed stations and at London Liverpool Street.

We have been made aware of a large fire near the railway at Stratford. The station is currently being evacuated as a safety precaution and no trains will be able to run through the area.
