Description

The emergency services have completed their work following an earlier incident. This has allowed all lines between Swindon / Oxford and Reading to reopen. Whilst service recovers, trains may still be delayed by up to 45 minutes, revised or cancelled.

This is expected until 22:00.

• The two CrossCountry services operating before and the two CrossCountry services after this service

• Great Western Railway via any reasonable route (please note that these services are also disrupted by this incident)

• Avanti West Coast services between Manchester Piccadilly / Birmingham New Street and London Euston

• Chiltern Railways services between:

  • Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone

  • Birmingham Moor Street / Oxford and Haddenham & Thame Parkway

• London Underground services between London Terminals. Please show your ticket to gateline staff on the Underground to be allowed through the ticket gates.

• South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Bournemouth

• West Midlands Railway services between Coventry and Leamington Spa

CrossCountry are looking to source rail replacement road transport between Banbury and Oxford.

To assist you with your journey, you can use your ticket to travel on the following services at no extra cost:

• Elizabeth line between Reading and London Paddington in both directions

• Chiltern Railways between Oxford and London Marylebone in both directions

• London Underground via any reasonable route

• Thames Travel route X40: Oxford (Westgate) and Reading (Station Road)

• Oxford Bus Company route 35: Oxford (City Centre, Westgate), Radley (Station)

• Stagecoach route 55: Swindon (Bus Station) Swindon and Oxford

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.
