Description
A fault with the signalling system between Swinton (South Yorkshire) and Meadowhall means that some lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Wakefield Westgate / Doncaster and Sheffield may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
Trains are currently unable to run between Doncaster and Sheffield in both directions.
Major disruption is expected until 12:00.
Network Rail engineers are on site dealing with this incident.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services and routes:
Between Doncaster and York
LNER services between York and Doncaster at no extra cost
Between Sheffield and Doncaster
CrossCountry services between Sheffield and York, changing at York for LNER services to Doncaster.
Other ticket acceptance
Tickets will be accepted on Northern and TransPennine Express services towards your destination
If your CrossCountry train is cancelled, then you can use your ticket on the two CrossCountry services operating before and the two CrossCountry services after your cancelled service
Unfortunately, seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are our unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.
Northern customer advice:
Trains running between Barnsley and Sheffield are not affected by this disruption.
Rail replacement transport:
Road transport has been requested to run between Doncaster and Sheffield as follows:
09:30 - 1 x full sixed bus will depart Sheffield calling at all stations to Doncaster
09:40 - 1 x full sized bus will depart Doncaster calling at all stations to Sheffield
Journey times will be extended whilst travelling by road transport.

Alternative Northern services via Fitzwilliam
Northern ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruptions ends.
