Description
A fault with the signalling system at Swinton (South Yorkshire) means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Sheffield and Wakefield Westgate / Doncaster may be delayed by up to 40 minutes, cancelled or revised.
Disruption is expected until 06:30.

Network Rail are currently on site working to rectify this issue.

If you are travelling on the following routes this morning, Friday 16 January, please ensure to recheck your journey closer towards your intended time of travel:
between Leeds and Sheffield via Moorthorpe - Services may be cancelled or diverted via Barnsley where possible
between Doncaster / Adwick and Sheffield - Services may be cancelled, delayed or may not call at Swinton (South Yorkshire)
between Scarborough / Hull and Sheffield - Services may be delayed or revised
Alternative travel suggestions:
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
Road transport will be requested in case disruption continues. More information will follow once confirmed.
